Earlier this week, I delivered a presentation on Rethinking Learning based on networks and ecologies as an alternative model to course-based learning approaches. I'm not anti-courses...but in complex, adaptive environments, courses simply don't work well. Courses were created to enable the transfer a snapshot of knowledge. When the field being portrayed changes rapidly, the course model begins to falter.
