Internet of things

Internet of things: "Changes brought about by the internet will be dwarfed by those prompted by the networking of everyday objects...Today, in the 2000s, we are heading into a new era of ubiquity, where the 'users' of the internet will be counted in billions and where humans may become the minority as generators and receivers of traffic."
Comment: Obviously this is significant, and a natural expression of where things are heading. Though, I always find it interesting when a formal body decides to degree the future...I heard Stephen Downes talking about this four years ago at AMTEC (he was looking at talking fishing poles - his metaphor of learning at the time).
