What E-Learning 2.0 means To You

I often find that my thoughts run parrallel with Stephen Downes (on networks in particular) and Jay Cross (on ecologies). Not sure whether that's an insult to either Stephen or Jay :). In Stephen's latest presentation (What E-Learning 2.0 means To You) he tackles a subject I'll be presenting on in early October...namely Web 2.0, distributed learning/meaning making, and new tools for social-based learning. The first section of Stephen's presentation covers changing environments of knowing, semantics, resource definitions (followers of his work will see the continued integration of his ideas over the last few years. He is beginning to articulate a view of learning that brings together what previously appeared somewhat disparate. His work on learning objects, resource definition, blogging, networks, etc. are merging into a clear image of the future of learning (newcomers to his work will find his ideas much easier to follow when they can start from a "whole picture" concept and dig down)). For me, the most interesting aspect of the presentation is a bit too brief - namely learning as network formation (a concept I tackled in a previous article).
