Rubrics...

Valuable site: Rubrics, Scoring, and Grading: "Rubrics are used in measuring student learning. Rubrics are systematic scoring methods that use pre-determined criteria. Rubrics help instructors assess student work more objectively and consistently." (via Use and Abuse of ET). On a side note: I think everyone should have an "About Me" link on their website/blog...it's like a digital introduction. Mine is here.

George,

Somehow I didn't think you looked like that! Doesn't match my mental image.

David...now I'm curious what you thought I looked like!

I know the experience of creating a mental image of someone based on reading their work/reading about them, etc. It's almost a bit unnerving to see what the person actually looks like...as in, something doesn't compute.

In online courses I've taken, I create an amazing array of images - everything from age to physical appearance, to personality.

I think someone should put together an edu-bloggers "photo album". It would be nice to see the people I "dialogue" with on a daily basis.

David's right, I thought you had a mustache ;-)

Here's what I look like - as far as I know the only picture of me on the net.
