i will have to concur with this topic due to fact that playing video games at a younger age has allowed to excel at what i do today. Games like final fantasy, playing without any cheat book your left with speculation only

We recently developed a game for sales professionals. There was a huge discussion of whether skills were transferable - if the decision making skills exhibited in the game context would actually help them solve the analogous real-world problems? Our way out was to contextualize the game theme by providing a couple of sample scenarios with game and really world linkages being explored before the learner started playing.
Interestingly, our client believes that games are best suited for assessment rather than for learning. But that is one perspective.

Games may not be a perfect approach for learning but they are obviously better than some approaces like sitting in the classroom for hours and learning something.
Not only that but is even of some entertainment as it mixes fun with learning.
