Teaching the Notion of Nanotechnology

Here is a great example of classes, courses, and traditional schools unable to react quickly to emerging knowledge: Teaching the Notion of Nanotechnology – “Recognizing that changing curricula can be next to impossible, the Nanoscale Informal Science Education Network is developing and distributing programs aimed at engaging schools in nanoscale science and engineering education…” (via Ray)
In many disciplines – nanotechnology, neuroscience, technology, global trends – the stability required of traditional education does not exist. Instead, we are sensing, probing, and developing knowledge faster than it can be codified into courses and textbooks. We need models which are more adaptive.
